OTT Developer /Engineer
We are seeking an experienced OTT Developer to design, build, and optimize streaming applications for platforms like Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV. This role combines front-end and back-end development to deliver outstanding user experiences, high-quality streaming, and seamless backend integration.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain OTT applications for various platforms including Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, and Smart TVs.
- Integrate applications with backend APIs, content management systems (CMS), and other third-party services.
- Implement and optimize video streaming protocols (HLS, DASH) and Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) streaming to ensure seamless playback on various devices and networks.
- Work with video encoding and transcoding processes to deliver high-quality streams while minimizing latency.
- Collaborate with designers to build and improve UI/UX for OTT platforms, ensuring intuitive navigation and high accessibility.
- Conduct unit and end-to-end testing on various devices to ensure compatibility and performance across OTT platforms.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of code, integrations, and deployment processes.
- Stay updated on OTT trends, emerging technologies, and platform updates (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, etc.).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in OTT development or video streaming applications.
Technical Skills:
- OTT Development Expertise: Experience in OTT platforms (Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV).
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in JavaScript, BrightScript (Roku), Swift (Apple TV), or other OTT-specific languages.
- Frontend Development: Knowledge of React.js, HTML5, CSS3 for interface development.
- Backend Integration: Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and CMS integration.
- Video Streaming Protocols: Expertise in HLS, DASH, RTMP, and Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) streaming.
- Cross-Platform Development: Experience in developing and deploying apps across multiple OTT platforms.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with video encoding and compression (H.264, H.265).
- Familiarity with CDN (Content Delivery Networks) and cloud services for streaming (AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of analytics and tracking for user engagement and performance monitoring.
